How submissions are reviewed
Submissions are compared with the existing page and other relevant sources. A correction may update a fact, add a new source, preserve two different public records or leave the page unchanged.
Company-submitted information
Company-submitted information is labelled according to its source and does not become independent verification. It is added to public editorial pages only when publication is appropriate and the source status is clear.
Requests that may not be accepted
- Unsupported deletion requests
- Requests to hide different public records
- Unsupported claims about competitors
- Paid requests for favourable wording
- Requests for verification, endorsement or recommendation labels
Editorial independence
Customers, advertisers and non-customers are subject to the same correction and source-review rules.
